What to Bring to the Beach
Boarding:
We will provide bedding - clients may leave all beds, blankets, and pillows at home.
Toys and treats can be brought in. However, we can also provide toys and treats here at the facility.
Food should be brought preferably pre-portioned in zip-lock baggies, 1 bag for each feeding. If we need to add canned food, raw food, medication, or supplements, we must have specific feeding & medication instructions. We highly recommend that your dog stays on their normal diet so that their stay can be as consistent as possible. Changes in diet can lead to upset stomachs and lack of appetite. We can provide food for your pet’s stay at an additional charge.
We do not free feed the dogs. If your dog is free fed at home, please determine how much food you would like your dog to have and how many times a day. We can feed up to 3 times a day Approximately 7AM, Noon & 5 PM.
All your dog’s belongings must fit in our bins. No large bags or plastic containers. If food is not portioned into single feedings, one large zip lock bag may be used. We have an example bin in our front lobby.
Most medications are included in your stay with us, exceptions are Insulin Injections & Fluids, which can be administered for an additional charge. Please have all medications properly labeled with instructions and your Veterinarian’s Information.
Collars with proper identification and a leash may be left with your pet(s).
Day Socialization:
Please do not bring your dog’s toys, as they may not want to share, we have plenty to keep them occupied. A collar with identification and a leash can be left with your dog.
If your dog needs feeding, please bring each feeding in a Zip-lock baggie with your pet’s name.
We feed 3 times a day Approximately 7AM, Noon & 5 PM.
*No retractable leashes or electronic collars please. We consider them unsafe, and we will not use them on your pet*
Health & Sickness
*ALL Vaccinations required to stay at the facility*
Vaccinations are needed for all services at the Facility: Rabies, Bordetella, & Distemper as well as a yearly negative fecal. Exception for grooming dogs only, Rabies is a must, we will also make medical exceptions with a letter from your veterinarian, and we will accept a titer test. It is the client’s responsibility to keep up with vaccinations. Your pet will not be allowed in the facility if vaccinations are not current. We would hate to have to turn your dog away, so please stay on top of this. Many Veterinarians are booked months out so be sure to make your appointment well in advance, so your vaccinations are current.
Vaccinations must be current and a copy in the facility 7 days prior to a Boarding appointment. If we do not have vaccinations 7 days prior to Boarding, you may lose your booking as well as your deposit. It is the client’s responsibility to keep up on Vaccinations.
We ask all clients that are using our Facility please only use our facility. Using multiple facilities on a regular basis can cross-contaminate our facility, as we have a much cleaner environment and not as many health issues such as Kennel Cough. We would appreciate your cooperation with this, to keep all the dogs as safe and healthy as possible.
Female dogs in heat are not allowed in the facility. If you suspect your dog is in heat, please do not bring them in for Daycare or Boarding. We will not be able to accept your dog into the facility even if you have a scheduled appointment. If your dog comes into heat while they are in our care, they will have to be quarantined from the other dogs and not allowed in group play. Additional charges will be incurred due to extra care.
Health & Sickness Continued
The health and wellbeing of all the pets in our care is our top priority. Just as when children or adults are around many others, such as a school or office setting, sickness, viruses, & injuries can occur. Vaccinations are a precautionary measure but will not guarantee your dog will not become sick. Bordetella, or kennel cough, is a prime example, as the vaccine only covers a small number of the many strains of the virus just like the flu vaccine for people. Just as in people, an animal can be a carrier without showing any symptoms. There may be an incubation period where the dog is not showing symptoms but may have an illness.
If your pet is showing any signs of illness such as coughing, diarrhea, discharge from eyes or nose, or does not seem to be in normal health, please do not bring your dog to the facility. We would ask that you call to let us know the symptoms and treatment your dog is having so we may best protect all the pets in our facility.
Injury
Whenever multiple dogs are together there is always a chance of injury. We do our utmost to be sure the dogs are safe, and play is appropriate. If an injury does occur, you will be notified to discuss what action you would like us to take. If you are not reachable, your veterinarian on file will be contacted to discuss action needed, or if no Veterinarian is on file or is not reachable, we will contact a veterinarian of our choice.
We thank you for your cooperation in keeping your pet as well as others here at the facility safe and healthy.
Expectations of Normal Dog Play
Remember that normal dog & puppy play does include mouthing, slobbering, using their paws, jumping, wrestling, & vocalization. Dogs or puppies with very short coats or light or pink skin are more prone to and may get scratched or nipped during normal dog play. We do our very best to monitor and keep playing appropriate, but these types of issues will always be a possibility during normal dog play.
Please be sure you have read and understand our Policies and Procedures than sign and date this page and return it with your paperwork.
